Confused beetween 'kbps' 'KBPS' 'kb/sec' 'KB/sec'
nd many more typ. I can explain the difference. In the most
common definition, there are
8 bits in one byte.
8 bits = 1 byte.
1024 bytes = 1KB
1024 KB = 1 MB
1024 MB = 1 GB
Service Providers advertise "bandwidth" in
Mega Bits. So 2Mbps is 2 Megabits.
What you and I are
interested in is primarily
Download/Upload speed -
usually measured in Bytes or Kilobytes -KBps or KBs.
Roughly - if you divide your
bandwidth (in bits/megabits)
by 8 (because 8 bits equals
a byte) you will arrive at the
download speed you'll get
for that plan. Using the same example, a 2 Mbps
connection will give you a
download speed of 250KBps
